Congratulations to Angela and Ian - married on the 16th of October 2009 in Scotland. Yes, Scotland! Dundas Castle near Edinburgh to be exact.
So, why Scotland? Well, Angela is Scottish (most of her family is still in Scotland) and Ian has Scottish heritage. And why not; who wouldn't love to be married in a castle!? One of the most amazing things about the wedding, apart from the beautiful couple of course, was that the weather was very un-Scottish. It was sunny, blue sky, and quite warm! That made a lot of the Australian guests right at home, although it was quite interesting for all of those who wore kilts for the first time (myself included). In fact, wearing a 15kg kilt and carrying two cameras, batteries, lenses and the usual stuff was quite a challenge - not to mention the strange feeling of fresh air where there's not usually fresh air...
What made this wedding even more interesting was that Angela's father, Robert, was the minister that married the couple. Robert has a great sense of humour which made for a very interesting and humorous ceremony and reception. Also, Ian (the groom) did the vast majority of the organisation, preparation, and planning for the wedding. Don't forget, the couple are from Australia too, so it was even more difficult to organise the wedding so far away in Scotland. The cake was something else - themed as a beehive with bees, it was made by Ian himself too!
I love this photo. It shows the grandeur of the location and of course features the bride and groom if you look hard enough. Shortly after this one was taken, Angela sprinted away and Ian chased her. Certainly an interesting sight to see a man in a red kilt chasing his bride in full dress in front of the castle. You'll have to watch the slideshow too see this one though :)

Ian (the Groom) here.... It was indeed a fantastic day however, I feel the need to correct the comment that I did the majority of the planning for the wedding.... it is simply not true! Angela, the organised person that see is, actually had the majority of the wedding organised about 6 months ago.. I simply helped with the finishing touches in the last few months.
In addition a big thank you has to go to Angela's parent's who spent many days travelling the countryside looking for the perfect venue with their checklist in hand and ensuring things that needed to be done on the ground were done.
I cannot take credit for this as it was a joint effort between all of us to make this the spectacular day that it was...... (Tate... hope you are not thinking about going into journalism as you should check some facts before putting to print :-)

Sorry, my facts came straight from the mouth of the Father of the Bride - someone you shouldn't question, especially at a wedding! :)
Anyway, well done to all those who helped in the organisation - definitely a team effort!
